ProMag™
ProMag™ are highly uniform polymer-based magnetite spheres available in diameters of 1µm and 3µm. A unique surface means low nonspecific binding in protein-based systems, and superior handling without the use of surfactant. These high-binding beads are suitable for use across a range of research and diagnostic applications, whether you're working at laboratory scale or have the more stringent requirements of high throughput applications. You'll get noticeably decreased separation times, without breaking the bank!
ProMag™ are available with carboxyl, streptavidin, or Bind-IT™ surface functionalities. Bind-IT™ is a revolutionary surface chemistry that allows fast (≤60 minutes) and stable binding of antibody. The Bind-IT™ chemistry is designed to immobilize protein in a manner that preserves tertiary structure for optimal activity, which results in significant improvements in sensitivity, the dynamic range of immunoassays, and exceptional reproducibility between coating batches.

COMPEL™
COMPEL™ are highly uniform superparamagnetic microspheres ideal for applications that demand uniform particle response, such as miniaturized bioassays and separations. COMPEL™ are comprised of iron oxide crystals dispersed in a polymer matrix, with a functional polymer overcoating for the encapsulation of magnetite and the introduction of reactive groups. As they are polymer-based, they retain the low density that is advantageous for biomolecular assays. Our initial offerings include 3µm, 6µm, and 8µm beads with measured CVs of ≤ 5% and high levels of COOH-functionalization. Customers ordering our 0.25g offering will also receive a 1.5mL magnetic separator - absolutely free!

Fluorescent Magnetic Polymers
Both Classical (MC catalog codes) and Encapsulated (ME catalog codes) superparamagnetic microspheres are synthesized using a process that results in the distribution of iron oxide crystals throughout the bead matrix. The surfaces of Encapsulated magnetic microspheres are expected to be free of iron oxide, while the Classical version will have some exposed iron oxide. Fluorescent polymer microspheres are available in four standard volumes: 1mL, 5mL, 10mL, and 100mL.

BioMag® and BioMag®Plus
BioMag® Superparamagnetic Particles are high-performance superparamagnetic microparticles widely used in the magnetic separation of cells, organelles, proteins, immunoglobulins, nucleic acids, and many other types of molecules in biological and non-biological systems. Their irregular shape affords a much greater surface area than that of the same size spherical particle. This large surface area results in high binding capacities, allowing for efficient capture of target with minimum amounts of particles. BioMag® particles are greater than 90% iron oxide resulting in a fast magnetic separation, especially on high throughput automated platforms. The particles are covered with a coating that provides functional groups for the attachment of proteins or antibodies.
There are three varieties of BioMag® Superparamagnetic Microparticles: BioMag®, BioMag®Plus, and BioMag® Maxi. BioMag® particles have a mean diameter of ~1.5µm (with the exception of BioMag® Superparamagnetic Iron Oxide [~10µm]). BioMag®Plus particles are similar to conventional BioMag® particles with the important distinction of fewer fines. Additionally, BioMag®Plus particles are often offered in kits as the principle component. BioMag® Maxi particles have a mean diameter of ~3-12µm.
BioMag® and BioMag®Plus Unconjugated Particles
BioMag® and BioMag®Plus Unconjugated Particles are offered for the covalent attachment of proteins or ligands while allowing for the retention of biological activity.
